Dr. George Hutcheson Denny
Named for the University's 15th president, Dr. George Hutcheson Denny, and his family, The Denny Society recognizes the importance of deferred gifts in ensuring the future of this institution. Such gifts allow us to plan our future—one envisioned and begun by President Denny.
"It is our high privilege in the light of the past to fix the standards of the future," said Denny as the University entered its second century. "We stand on the shoulders of our fathers and ought to see farther than they." Today, the students, faculty and administration of the University are able to expand our horizons, to broaden our scope and to see farther through the generosity of private donors.
Members of The Denny Society carry on his vision of leadership and excellence. The University of Alabama is most grateful for the foresight and vision of these loyal donors.
Denny Society Events
As a member of The Denny Society, you will be invited to attend a biennial celebration event. In the past, these events have included a reception, a program featuring the University's top scholars, student presentations and performances, tours of campus and historical buildings, a luncheon, and an induction ceremony for new members. The University recognizes Denny Society members who have expressly given permission to list their names in its publications. The University honors all requests for anonymity.
